I was down at CykelCity today to buy a Hope Head Doctor after seeing that it would be cheaper than buying the tool and the star. I also wanted a second opinion on my Googling about forks that are stuck. The consensus opinion is that a hammer is the way to go. Probably it rusted after it came loose last year and I put it back on.
So, if I can manage to get the old fork off without killing the headset, I should be riding this weekend...wish me luck.

Yes...famous last words said to a wife before making a giant hole in the wall. =)
But it was more the question of how precise I needed to be. And whether I needed to move from the rubber hammer to the more precise steel variant.
