I am in the process of feeling stupid again since it looks like I already missed the Sandbycrossen deadline and I am one day late for my licens application. This is my own fault as usual. Blä. But I am racing in Lund even if I have to take Sport.
For some therapy I have started looking into my MTB and things which could be changed. I know you have all seen this beauty of a new Shimano XTR vevparti and the fact that it is 40/28 makes it seriously attractive. So here is my tech question...if I already have XT (the 770 series from 2 years ago), can I still use this stuff or would I need to change everything?

That would make sense since SCF is closed till 10 jan. But WHY are they fussing so much at MCK??? Maybe they just want their medlemsavgift.

nej du behöver inte byta allt det som kanske behöver bytas är kanske vevlagret men det får väl du med om du köper komplett vevparti. men frågan är väl om det är värt att byta bara vevpartiet till XTR, det är inte super lätt och det växlar inte bättre, om man vill ha två delat så kan man modda sitt gamla med nya klingor. vad kostar xtr vevpartiet?
jag skulle satsa på ett komplett system typ xt eller något av srams x9,x0 skulle ge mer per krona bara byta vevparti ger inte så mycket.//Hansen
The XTR in the picture is around 3000kr but it does look very good. =) I have all XT now but I think all I really need to do is change the vevlager since it makes noise.
I still think my best bet is to change the fork. The Recon SL is over 2kg and is crap. But fork changing means big money...

Look at some Rock Shox Reba's for a good value light weight fork.

In my opinion it's not worth going XTR over XT if cost is an issue as the performance is not any better.
That Reba fork looks like a good deal but if the price is so cheap I might as well get a Sid.
Was also looking at DT Swiss since they have some insanely light forks. Does anyone have experience with their forks?
Yes, so the XTR upgrade has been dissed completely. We can leave that...
