Running into 2013
It has been very quiet here but now it is time to break the silence and reveal all of my tjuvträning. I have been running on the weekends because it is easy to arrange and is extremely effective considering the size of the hills in Partille.
Looking back to those years which went well, running during the winter has been the key to my success. And last year is certainly a good example of that because I had already developed some ground fitness by the time I jumped on my MTB for the first time. After this many weeks of running a very tough 10km-ish route I can manage it without stopping and with not so much träningsvärk. So now I can increase the distance which is great for mid-February.
As for my MTB goals this year I have a few marathons in mind. I managed to get a spot for Grenserittet so I will choose races that give me qualifying times. So I suspect Norway will be a popular choice for me again. But Långa Lugnet in Falun is on my list and most likely Mörksuggejakten because it is a tradition.
But I should probably also do something with my running while I am making this effort. I would like improve my PB and get under 50 min for my mil time. But maybe I already am under that. The only measure I have is Lerumsloppet at 53 min but that was hilly and I just showed up without any planning or proper eating. Running is the most honest measure of my fitness level because it does not depend on equipment, tires, excuses or being overcautious. I just run as fast as I can.
